- Our USR MP/16 has been running flawlessly for a couple of months in
- a modem pool. Recently, it has become rather unstable, dropping lines,
- and not answering for periods of several minutes to over an hour. One
- day i finally caught it in the act and found that a bank of lines were
- all red indicating what the manual calls "critical failure", which
- eventually reset themselves. I've seen this state on both lines 1-8
- and 9-16 (the whole bank at a time). I also notice that powercycling
- the box comes up with all the lines in various random states and either
- they all reset (bank independent) within a minute, or only several at
- a time (initially, they would all come up and reset simultaneously).
-
- I suspect it's crapping out, but anyone know what "critical error"
- means for certain ?
-
- I sent e-mail to support@usr.com a couple of days ago, but I'm told
- it's going to take a while "due to the holidays".
-
- thanks,
- -eric
